If You're Only Going To Have One

As we start the new year, many of us make resolutions, like reducing alcohol intake.  For me, I vowed to have a single glass of wine per day.  One of the great aspects of drinking wine is it can be a drawn-out affair; so I can turn that glass of Burgundy into an evening long tasting tour.

Limiting yourself to only one glass allows you to savor the flavor, and really take the time to appreciate the nuances of the wine, rather than simply gulping it down. This can help you develop an understanding of different types of wines and become more knowledgeable about your favorite varietals.

Its no secret that wine has been a staple in many cultures for centuries. From relaxing with friends to celebrating special occasions, wine has been a part of our lives.

If you're only going to have one glass of wine per day, the best choice for you will depend on a few factors. Here are a few things to consider:

  1. Your personal preferences: Do you prefer red or white wine? Sweet or dry? Full-bodied or light? Consider what you enjoy drinking and choose a wine that aligns with your preferences.

  2. The occasion: Is this a special occasion, or just a casual dinner at home? A bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine might be a good choice for a special occasion, while a more modest wine might be more suitable for a casual dinner.

  3. The food you'll be eating: The wine you choose should complement the food you'll be eating. For example, a light white wine might pair well with seafood, while a full-bodied red wine might be a better match for a hearty steak.

Ultimately, the best wine for you will depend on your personal preferences and the context in which you'll be drinking it. Don't be afraid to experiment and try different wines to find the one that's right for you.
